Halo Stoma Guard Kit for Seatbelts and Your Ostomy Belt
A stoma guard for the moments an ostomy belt can't cover
A good ostomy belt holds your pouch secure and close to your body. What it can't do is stop a seatbelt from pressing on your stoma, a toddler climbing into your lap, or a dog jumping up to say hello. That is where a stoma guard comes in. The Halo Stoma Guard is a low profile, reusable shield that sits over your stoma and takes the hit so you don't have to.
Pairs perfectly with a HIRO Performance Horizontal or HIRO Performance Vertical ostomy belt. The Halo guard is always offered at its everyday price, so promo codes and sales apply to HIRO belts only.
Why I personally like the Halo guard
I'm Richard O'Hamill. I've lived with an ostomy since 2008 and have spent 17 years designing ostomy support products (my story is here). Here's why this little guard earned a spot in my own routine:
- Seatbelts. It keeps the pressure of the seatbelt off my stomach every time I drive.
- Martial arts and impact sports. As a martial arts instructor, I know how easily a stray knee or elbow can find your stoma. The guard gives you a layer of protection when the action gets physical.
- Duty belts and tool belts. If you wear a heavy belt at work, like a police officer's duty belt or a construction worker's tool belt, the guard keeps that belt from pressing down on your pouch.
- Keeps the pouch lifted. It holds the pressure up and off your stomach, so your pouch can do its job.
- Small and discreet. It's compact and easy to put on the outside of your pouch, and it stays hidden under clothes.
- Works perfectly with my belts. It sits right inside the HIRO ostomy belt I designed, so the belt holds everything in place while the guard handles the bumps.
- Great value. It's built tough, and realistically I think it will last forever. Halo backs it with a lifetime replacement warranty too.
Think of it like your seatbelt. You don't plan on having an accident, but you wear it just in case. This little stoma protector does the same thing for your stoma. For anyone who wants a little extra protection and peace of mind, it's nice to have one, just for safety.
Made by a friend who shares our mission
The Halo guard is made by Halo Ostomy, a company run by a good friend of mine. Like us, they're in this to help people live fuller, more confident lives with an ostomy. The ostomy community is built on good connections, and I only share products from people I trust and products I truly love. This is one of them.

Guard plus belt: the full setup
Think of it as two jobs. The guard handles impact. The belt handles support, keeping your ostomy bag close, reducing movement, and giving you confidence when you are active. Stoma guard FAQ
Do I need a HIRO belt to use it?
No. The Halo guard works on its own or with any ostomy belt. It pairs especially well with a HIRO Horizontal or HIRO Vertical belt, which holds the guard and pouch securely in place.
Do discount codes apply to the Halo guard?
The Halo guard is always offered at its everyday price, so it isn't included in promo codes or sales. Current offers apply to HIRO ostomy belts.
Does it work with my type of ostomy?
Yes. The Halo guard is designed for colostomy, ileostomy, and urostomy.
How does it attach?
It attaches with a velcro sticker. Use a new sticker each time you change your appliance. The kit includes 60.
Does a stoma guard replace an ostomy belt?
No. They do different jobs. A guard protects against impact and pressure, while an ostomy belt supports your pouch and your core. Many active ostomates use both.
Is it helpful for parastomal hernia concerns?
Every body is different, so talk with your WOC nurse or surgeon. The United Ostomy Associations of America has a helpful page on parastomal hernias, and you can find a WOC nurse near you. For support options, see how an ostomy hernia belt may support parastomal hernia care.
What does the warranty cover?
Halo offers a 100% lifetime replacement warranty, including accidental loss, once you register your guard.
