Why I personally like the Halo Ostomy Guard
I've lived with an ostomy since 2008, and I'm always looking for simple things that make everyday life easier. This little guard is one of them.
It's great when you wear a seatbelt, because it keeps the pressure off your stomach. If you practice martial arts or play impact sports, it gives you a layer of protection. And if you wear a heavy belt for work, like a police officer's duty belt or a construction worker's tool belt, it's great to have something that keeps that belt from pressing on your bag. It keeps everything lifted off the stomach and gives you real protection.
It's nice and small, discreet, and easy to put on the outside of your pouch. And of course, it works perfectly inside the HIRO ostomy belt I designed. It's a great value, and realistically I think it will last forever.
Anyone who wants a little extra protection will appreciate it. It's like a seatbelt: we wear one just in case we have an accident. This little stoma protector does the same thing. It's nice to have one, just for safety.

🤝 Made by a friend who shares our mission
The Halo guard is made by Halo Ostomy, a company run by a good friend of mine. Like us, they're in this to help people live fuller, more confident lives with an ostomy. The ostomy community is built on good connections, and I only share products from people I trust and products I truly love. This is one of them.
Made for the moments that put pressure on your stoma
The full setup: guard plus belt

The guard and the belt do two different jobs, and they're better together.
- The Halo guard handles impact. It shields your stoma from pressure and bumps.
- The HIRO ostomy belt handles support. It holds your pouch close, reduces movement, and keeps the guard in place.

Why the Halo guard works
Halo Ostomy Guard FAQ
Do I need a HIRO belt to use it?
No. The Halo guard works on its own or with any ostomy belt. It pairs especially well with a HIRO Horizontal or HIRO Vertical belt, which holds the guard and pouch securely in place.
Do discount codes apply to the Halo guard?
The Halo guard is always offered at its everyday price, so it isn't included in promo codes or sales. Current offers apply to HIRO ostomy belts.
How does it attach?
It attaches to the outside of your pouch with a velcro sticker. Use a new sticker each time you change your appliance.
Does a stoma guard replace an ostomy belt?
No. A guard protects against impact, while an ostomy belt supports your pouch. Many active ostomates use both. Learn more in why a stoma guard protects your stoma during active days.
Is it helpful if I have a parastomal hernia?
Every body is different, so check with your WOC nurse or surgeon. The UOAA has a helpful page on parastomal hernias, and you can find a WOC nurse near you.
