Why We Exist

O’Hamill Inc. was created with a clear purpose: to give people living with an ostomy complete confidence in how they move, live, and show up in the world.

After undergoing life changing surgery for Crohn's disease, our founder, Richard O’Hamill, experienced firsthand what patients actually need to get back to a normal lifestyle. After his surgery there were no products available that would work for his lifestyle.

So he built something better.

Meet the Founder

Richard O’Hamill is the inventor and founder of Stealth Belt, Inc. Following the sale of Stealth Belt and the assignment of his patent rights to Stealth Belt, Richard founded a new business, O’Hamill Inc., focused on the development and marketing of innovative ostomy support products. HIRO is O’Hamill Inc.’s brand, built on that mission.

He set out to create the best ostomy belt for performance. What began as a personal solution quickly evolved into a new standard, one focused on performance, comfort, and dignity. Today, that same mission drives everything we create. Read more of Richard's story and why the brand is called HIRO.
